MyGIG™
The all-new 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible is available with a variety of audio systems, including the innovative MyGIG multimedia navigation, audio, entertainment and communication system from Harman/Kardon. Sebring Convertible owners can use a touch screen to control MyGIG’s features. The system also includes a hard drive for storing music, photos and voice messages.

“Customers will enjoy a more customized vehicle with their personal selection of photos and music stored on the vehicle’s hard drive thanks to Chrysler Group’s MyGIG system,” Rooney added. “Additionally, with traffic congestion and delays on the rise, the real-time traffic feature of our new navigation audio unit will make our customers’ commutes easier.”

At 20 gigabytes, the MyGIG multimedia head unit enables hard-drive-based navigation, storage of photos and the ability to rip and store music downloaded from CDs or a USB memory device. An integrated music jukebox has industry-first Gracenote® music-file management to automatically add song, artist and album information to music files. The system includes space reserved on the hard drive for approximately 1,600 songs, which equates to more than 100 hours of music. In addition to music, JPEG photos can be downloaded through the USB 2.0 port interface and viewed on the thin-film-transistor display. Customers can use one of these photos to create a custom background for the radio display. Movies can be played on the navigation screen for entertaining passengers when the transaxle is in Park.

Available through SIRIUS Satellite Radio, MyGIG supports real-time traffic and can provide re-route navigation based on current traffic patterns.

All of Sebring Convertible’s available radio head units feature a 3.5mm audio input jack for easy connection to any MP3 player. The base audio system offers four speakers, AM/FM stereo and CD playback and can be upgraded to six speakers. An available, premium six-speaker Boston Acoustics sound system with six-channel amplifier delivers excellent sound quality and loudness with improved amplification and sound clarity. An optional radio head — available with either of the six-speaker systems — features an integrated six-disc CD/DVD changer and can also play back CDs with MP3 and WMA files. Loading the changer with CDs or discs full of MP3-formatted music will provide thousands of miles worth of music for Sebring Convertible owners.
