FCA México Reports Best First-semester Sales Over the Last Eight Years

  • FCA México reported sales of 48,424 units for first half of the year; best first semester over last eight years
  • In June, FCA México sold 8,010 units
  • Alfa Romeo MiTo recorded best June ever
  • In the first half of 2017, Dodge sales climbed 12 percent over the same period in 2016
  • Fiat brand recorded best sales for the month of June, led primarily by Mobi, which achieved its best sales month ever
  • Ram ProMaster and Ram 700 continue as top leaders of their segments
Mexico City 1 de julio de 2017 - FCA México reported sales of 48,424 units for the first half of 2017, up 4 percent versus 2016; best first semester over the last eight years.
 
“In an increasingly demanding market, it is important to offer our customers the best quality products and after-sales services,” said Bruno Cattori, President & CEO of FCA México. “This semester, we achieved a new sales record that shows the positive acceptance our vehicles are having in each segment, plus, last month, all FCA US brands improved in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality Study.”
 
Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo, the brand that stands out for design, technology and premium brand performance, sold 30 units. Alfa Romeo MiTo, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Alfa Romeo 4C and Alfa Romeo Giulia continued their positive sales trends. Last month, Alfa Romeo Giulia was named “Game Charger” by Autocar.
 
Chrysler
Chrysler sold 56 units. The minivan that redefined its segment, Chrysler Pacifica, recorded positive sales results. Last month, Parents magazine and Edmunds named it “Best Minivan” on their list of the “10 Best Family Cars of 2017.” Also, Chrysler Pacifica led the minivan segment in its inaugural year in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM.

Dodge
In the first half of 2017, Dodge sales improved 12 percent versus the same period in 2016, with 17,025 units sold. In June, the brand sold 2,945 units. The brand's most successful vehicle was Dodge Attitude, which sold 1,710 units. Dodge Neon, with its exceptional fuel efficiency, sold 452 units. Dodge Grand Caravan, the minivan equipped with more than 55 available safety, security and technology features, sold 162 vehicles, while Dodge Challenger sold 116 units. In their respective segments, these two vehicles ranked second in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM.
 
Fiat
Fiat placed 1,216 units into the market, a 52 percent increase versus prior year; best June in its history. These sales were led primarily by Mobi, which achieved its best sales month ever with 629 units sold. Fiat Palio Sporting achieved its best June sales. Another vehicle that saw with positive sales results is the Fiat Uno, its design and great handling have made it a perfect vehicle for city driving.
 
Jeep®
Jeep sold 982 units. The recently launched Jeep Renegade continues to gain market acceptance, confirming that its innovative design, equipment and versatility make it a leader in its segment; last month, this vehicle sold 405 units. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler reported sales of 284 units and 225 units, respectively.
 
Mitsubishi Motors
Mitsubishi Motors Mexico finished the month with 719 units sold. Last month, Mirage sold 262 units, Mitsubishi L200 reported sales of 306 units and Mitsubishi Outlander sold 142 units.
 
Ram
Ram sales improved 9 percent over the prior year with 2,062 units sold. Ram 700 and Ram ProMaster Rapid continue as top leaders in their segments, selling 777 units and 396 units, respectively.
 
In June, Ram Truck was the industry’s most improved truck brand with more than a 24 percent improvement in the brand’s initial quality score from last year’s J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study.
