FCA México Reports August 2016 Sales of 7,812 Units

  • Alfa Romeo recorded its best sales month ever
  • Dodge sales improved 24 percent versus August 2015
  • Mitsubishi Motors Mexico introduced the all-new 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage, reporting sales of more than 500 units
  • Ram brand sales were up 2 percent
  • Dodge Vision recorded its best sales month ever
  • Dodge Attitude sales up 39 percent - new August sales record
  • Fiat Uno sales rose 17 percent; best August ever
September 1, 2016,  Mexico City - FCA México today reported sales of 7,812 units.
“Our latest addition to the Dodge lineup, the Dodge Neon, has performed well among customers who are looking for exciting and innovative vehicles. The new E-Torque engine generation, our multi-awarded infotainment system Uconnect and the best balance between the interior and exterior are features that are attracting new cutomers,” said Bruno Cattori, President & CEO of FCA México. “We continue our trend in offering to the Mexican market one of the most complete product portfolios in the automotive industry with features that raise the bar in its segments, like the all-new 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage unveiled last month, which offers the best fuel efficiency in its class.”
Alfa Romeo
The Alfa Romeo brand posted its best sales month ever with 41 units sold. Alfa Romeo MiTo and Alfa Romeo Giulietta reported its best August sales ever.
Chrysler brand sales continued to do well with 123 units sold.
The Dodge brand experienced a sales increase of 24 percent to 3,069 units sold. Dodge Vision recorded its best sales month ever with 474 units sold. August sales of Dodge Attitude were up 39 percent with 1,511 units sold; setting its best August ever. On its second sales month, Dodge Neon continued to captivate the public and attract new customers to the brand. Dodge Challenger sales increased 42 percent over August 2015; its best August ever.
FIAT brand sales remained strong with 725 units sold. Fiat Uno sales surged 17 percent compared to August 2015; best August in its history. Fiat Palio Adventure sales continued its strong pace by posting an increase of 102 percent over August 2015, while Fiat Palio Sporting sales grew 55 percent. Fiat Ducato sales improved 123 percent over August 2015. The Fiat 500L sales grew 20 percent.
Jeep brand achieved sales of 904 units. Jeep Grand Cherokee continued to report positive results with 316 units sold; while the Jeep Wrangler reported sales of 215 units.
Mitsubishi Motors
Mitsubishi Motors Mexico reported 1,174 units sold during August. Mitsubishi L200 sold 391 units, a 27 percent sales increase; best August since its launch. Mitsubishi Outlander reported sales of 183 units, a 5 percent sales increase over the same period last year. Last month, Mitsubishi Motors Mexico introduced the all-new 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage, which reported sales of 529 units; its best August ever. This vehicle offers great fuel efficiency, up to 27/8 km/lt., new design and important security systems.
Strong sales of the Ram 700 and Ram ProMaster helped to push sales of the Ram brand up 2 percent to 1,776 units sold over August 2015 sales. Ram 700 fortified its position as the leader of its segment by posting sales of 983 units. Ram ProMaster sales rose 44 percent verus August 2015.
